Mary Eberlein, LCSW
I'm Mary. Welcome!
I'm glad you are here.
I know that finding the right therapist is its own kind of work. I hope what you find here feels like a fit.
My work moves in two directions at once. We look back - at the early experiences and relationships that shaped your patterns, your defenses, the ways you learned to survive - because understanding where something comes from can be profoundly freeing. And we look forward, using those insights to move toward a life that feels meaningful and values-driven, not just managed or survived.
My approach is rooted in a psychodynamic and attachment lens, an understanding that early relationships and experiences shape who we become. From there, I draw on Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Narrative Therapy. Each offers a different entry point into the same work - understanding how past experiences are impacting you and finding your way toward what matters most.
If you've read this far and feel like the way I work resonates with you, I'd love to connect. Please reach out to arrange a free consultation.

A bit about me... I grew up on the U.S. Gulf Coast (you'll hear this in my accent!) and had a previous career teaching computing at the college level. My passion for connecting with and supporting people, an essential part of my teaching career, led me back to school to pursue a path in counseling, receiving a Master's degree in Social Work from the University of Texas at Austin. Before transitioning to group practice and private practice, I've worked in a variety of settings, including work as an inpatient therapist as well as a hospice social worker, where I had the privilege of supporting patients with a terminal diagnosis and their families. On a more personal note, I am a married mother of two amazing young adults. Some of my favorite things are cuddly dogs, mystery novels, Austin's walking trails, and time with my family and friends.

The bur oak you see on this site honors the memory of clients who have passed away.
